Rad! It’s been pumping for weeks, every day I wake up, make a coffee, drive to the beach and the waves are firing! A lot of people are saying it’s the best Winter in 25 years, that could be an exaggeration but it’s definitely been epic and it was still pumping today and tomorrow is meant to be even better before it goes flat for a few days next week…
Work has been busy too, we were striking in Spain in February, Holland in March and last week were in France for a few days, ripping on the dirt in Brittany, we’re back in Spain at the end of the month.
We’ve just got back from Sri Lanka, it was the best we’ve ever had it (check out the edit) the waves pumped for the whole trip – Mirissa, Ahangama, Kabalana and even Hiriketiya….firing!
One morning in Hiriketiya it was the biggest I’ve ever seen it there, we were taking off behind the boulder at the end of the point and it was peeling top to bottom all the way across to the beach, just me 2 dudes from the Gold Coast and a shredder from Tel Aviv.
The swell was solid for 3 weeks, I had one session at Gas Stations in Ahangama and it was nearly double overhead; the left was closing out and the right was dredging across the reef for 200yds. I met a super cool Russian dude who filmed me with his drone for the whole session, check out the reel on insta.
Anyway, I’m going shredding now, the banks at North Watergate are sick at the moment.
